in a lonely way
you know, it all makes sense
waking up in your arms
cause no one likes being alone
and no one likes working too hard...
and you know it should be easy
finding a mind like mine
and you know it should be easy
but it aint...
and you know it should be easy
driving down that line
and you know it should be easy
but it aint...
and on nights like these
man, it’s nights like these...
I can feel someone standing by my side…
hallelujah! hallelujah!
I can hear you calling for me…
and you know it should be easy
like lights along a wire...
and you know it should be easy
like smoke above a fire
and you know it should be easy
you know it should be easy
you know you should be easy to find
and I said to myself, “lord!”
and I said to myself, “lord!”
“I can feel you moving by my side!”
and I said to myself, “lord!”
and I said to myself, “lord!”
“some things just aint easy to hide...”
As far as indie albums in the 2010's and beyond go, this is one of the most cohesive and emotive albums I've experienced looking back on it and is Jay Som's best album tokyonoir
I’ve known of STRFKR since around the time this album was originally released (2012 or 2013, most likely). That said, it’s taken me until now (February 10, 2023) to listen to STRFKR. And allow me to say this is something I somewhat regret. This album reminds me a lot of MGMT’s “Oracular Spectacular” but less polished. There’s an earnestness to these songs that is undeniable, and it’s a helluva lot of fun. If electro rock is your cup of tea, bring an empty cup; STRFKR’s gonna make sure it’s full. Kirk Gauthier
This album rips. I’ve passed on Japandroids for several years since discovering Polyvinyl Records, and I have to admit I regret that decision immensely. This album is fast, furious, and a LOT of fun. Kirk Gauthier
Terry Venemous is releasing new music every 3 weeks this year. His latest EP is sumptuous art pop with a wry sense of detachment.

Absolutely brilliant, dreamy indie folk-rock. Most of the songs are somewhere between two and three minutes but feel as though they last a lifetime (in a good way). Beautifully heart-wrenching from beginning to end. Kirk Gauthier
